Damian Lillard

As the NBA is going to be set up for 2020, Damian Lillard has geared up for the return and has put himself in an entirely self-contained bubble in Orlando's Walt Disney World Resort on the 30th of July. He seems to have been putting in efforts to keep himself active and in shape.

In fact, it has been noted by some health specialists that Damian Lillard is using much resistance and is instead choosing to go for quantity and getting in some strong pump in. "It's not often you see basketball players doing curls, because there's a little functional carryover to the sport," Samuel says, a health expert in men's Fitness magazine. "So this is obviously less a prep-for-the-season session and more a pump session for Dame."

A day before he posted this video, Lillard posted a list of 10 videos to his Instagram, also giving his fitness journey as he plans to turn to NBA action. He captioned the photo: "Stay ready and you won’t have to get ready. If I come up short EVER... whether I was prepared or not won’t be the reason. @cemcondition83 best in the world," he wrote, marking his weight and conditioning coach, Cem Eren.

This is all about the Damian Lillard workout routine/exercise plan that he follows in the whole week.

He has many times contributed to this amazing action and the way he plays to his focus on the details and intricacies makes him perfect. He pays attention to the details that he does in the day. “Just the same stuff I’ve said – just sticking to my routine," he said after Saturday night's win over Utah. "I don’t think people understand how easy it is, once the season gets going, you start wearing down and get tired, traveling, you’ve got your personal stuff you’ve got to deal with – it’s easy to get sidetracked from your routine and start to take this day, and not do every little thing," he continues further elucidating the importance of details and how easy it is to get sidetracked.

Damian Lillard is clearly very determined and has a strong will. He has made efforts to get where he is at. He does stuff even when he does not have to do it. He says, “I’ve just made a conscious effort to do those things, even when I don’t want to do it. Going at night time to get a light 25-minute shooting workout, make 100 free throws, do ball handling for 15 minutes, going back at night – getting up and getting in a cold tub even if we don’t have a shoot around instead of putting it off. Making sure I do it, making sure I find two and a half hours to get a massage and get treatment and get stretched and make sure I’m sleeping, laying down and not on my feet, staying hydrated."

Besides being physically active, it is also important that people are also mentally fine. He says, “I mean, just all of those things really play a part and also just the peace of mind, really actively working on my faith and being true to that and having a clear mind." He is also a strong believer in the fact that whatever you wish for happens and so he believes that it will all okay in the end. He explains this by saying, “Also, coming into these games and these situations mentally prepared and telling myself, like I’m going to come in and make stuff happen. I think all of those things, you put it together and you have a chance to do what’s happening.”

He is also a great fan of some players whom he gets inspired. He tells in an interview how he is impressed by Kenneth Faried and Anthony Davis. In his words, "I think everybody here is in really good shape. But I think Kenneth Faried is a monster with his motor and how hard he plays and goes after rebounds and loose balls. The same for Anthony Davis. He’s just so long and runs the court like a deer."

He avoids everything which is not beneficial for health but more than this, he does not do anything else."Actually, just a couple of weeks ago, I got on a different meal plan. I wouldn’t even call it a diet because I’m not as big as those guys. I just got on a more strict meal plan where I don’t eat as much sugar and salt and fried food. Just for health reasons, to feel better and take better care of my body and treat it like the machine that it is so it can function better and longer."Damian Lillard also tried going on a vegan diet but he stopped it completely because he began losing too much weight. Damian Lillard took to Instagram to announce that he has become vegan on September 5th in hopes o being healthier in life. He did get towards his goal of being 190 pounds against but he soon ended this diet which helped him lose weight because he had lost 17 pounds at least. He explains the whole experience saying, “I did it, but I started to lose a little bit too much weight with all the games and practices and all that,” Lillard said on the podcast. “I had to balance it out, so now I’ve been mixing it up a little bit more, having vegan meals, still mixing it up with other stuff.”

Damian Lillard

He does admit that the vegan diet that he tried following allowed him to eat cleaner and make better decisions when it came to food choices, which eventually made him feel better and lose more weight. In fact, there was news when some journalists caught Damian Lillard enjoying vegan sloppy Joes but missing Wendy's foods. However, it was quite controversial when Damian Lillard actually dismissed the questions that were put on him about his vegan diet and how is it affecting him during the match.

He has completely shunned off Wendy's which was his guilty pleasure at some point in life, Other players in NBA who began the vegan diet includes, Kyrie Irving, Enes Kanter, JaVale McGee, Wilson Chandler, and Jahlil Okafor.

“I did it to lose some weight and be easier on my feet, knees, and ankles,” said Lillard. “I had a few injuries, so I was trying to get lighter and trying to get healthier and put better stuff in my body. It helped a lot as far as my energy and how I felt,” he continued explaining the health benefits of his vegan diet.

Damian Lillard

Although he had to cut out a lot of things from his diet, he did cut them out and he felt that they were worth it taking into consideration the kind of benefits he was experiencing. In his words, he explains, “I love Benihana with the extra garlic butter and fried rice and all that stuff with steak and chicken,” he said. “I thought it was necessary to cut out. Even Wing Stop. I love Wing Stop, too, lemon pepper wings. I just had to get rid of it. Once I noticed the change in how I felt, I said it was worth it.”
