Emily Blunt Workout Routine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QvH3msMjmkJason Walsh is currently training Emily Blunt and has a three-part circuit training workout schedule. The workouts he prescribes result in getting the heart rate up and strengthening the core. The circuits are usually 25-30 minutes long with appropriate rest time in between each circuit. It does not use many types of equipment. Dumbells, stepper, and a pull-up bar usually suffice. Emily makes this routine a part of her life and follows it for at least 6 times a day. She dedicated 2 hours to her core strength and cardiovascular strength.“It was brutal at first and then became addictive,” she said. The session begins with cardio to pump up the heart rate. It usually lasts for 10 minutes. Each set henceforth is repeated thrice with a break of 60 seconds between each set. The workout routine also encourages the clients to take up pilates or yoga at least twice a week to maintain flexibility.“I’ve been working out more recently”. I really like doing Pilates as well and yoga and all those lengthening exercises … probably like four, sometimes five times a week!” she said.

Here' something Jason Walsh has to say about training Emily Blunt:

"My experience has been that most people don’t really enjoy it in the beginning. I tell them what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. But to actually be doing it is a whole different thing. The first time you go out to the track feels like the hardest thing you’ve ever done. And then it becomes habitual. Then you get so damn strong and fast that it gets to a point where you’re just challenging yourself. That’s when it becomes fun."

Here's a look at Emily's circuit schedule:

First Circuit

Repeat three times with 60 seconds of rest in between sets.

  • Side planks (30 seconds on each side)
  • Jump squats (15 reps)
  • Pushups (10 reps)

Second Circuit

Repeat three times with 60 seconds of rest in between sets.

  • Squat presses (15 reps)
  • Pull-ups (10 reps)
  • Bent over rows (15 reps)

Third Circuit

Repeat three times with 60 seconds of rest in between sets.

  • Lateral lunges (10 reps on each leg)
  • Step-ups (10 reps on each leg)
  • Straight leg sit-ups (15 reps)
