Rege-Jean Page was born in the UK in 1990 but has lived for most of his childhood life in Harare, Zimbabwe. He was born to a Zimbabwean Nurse and an English Priest. Eventually, as he grew up, he moved back to the UK for pursuing his studies and college. He was a mixed-race which came with its own problems for him. He says, “Zimbabwe was still a relatively young country when I was living there and its post-apartheid society was only newly formed,” he told The Guardian on December 17. “Being a mixed-race child in that environment means that you have to think about crafting your own identity and you question why you belong in that world.”

Before he made it on the screens, Rege-Jean Page took a degree in acting from the Drama Centre London in 2013. It is a prestigious institute and has Michael Fassbender, Gemma Chan, Emilia Clarke, Luke Evans, and Russell Brand as its alumni. Since he started his acting career on small or big screens, Bridgerton is not his first collab with the producer, Shonda Rhimes. Rege-Jean Page has previously started in the 2018 action movie, Mortal Engines, the BBC Three drama series Waterloo Road and the History Channel’s Roots miniseries. At 31 years of age, Regé-Jean Page has revealed that he had to work out at 5 am every single day as he prepared for some fight scenes and the more fueled steamy scenes on the set with Phoebe Dynevor, 25. “There’s a lot of physical activity involved, so I was on the full Rocky regime for it,” the Zimbabwean-born actor said in his own words at a recent interview. “I was up at 5 am every day, going to the gym, meeting my trainer,” he continued.

The 31-year-old star has come forward to explain how he had religiously followed an intense Rock Style workout routine each day, without a miss, which meant having intense HIIT sessions with his PT. In his words, “He was horrible to me for an hour and a half every morning before the day started. I got my strength up just from surviving him.” His training sessions would last anywhere from 1 hour to 1 hour and a half but he has no qualms about it either because it eventually did well for him even though he was not always ready for it. He even added, “Luckily, the pretentious actor in me could justify that, because I always start building a character from what their physical language is. But you are also serving the audience in a genre that is about fantasy and glamour.”

The pictures that have been recently posted on magazines and social media shows the crew (the cameramen, hairstylists, make up artists, trainers, and choreographers along with the cast create the magic.
